There was a particularly nasty tackling drill in football practice. From a supine position the tackler leapt to his feet and turned around to see a bal carrier charging at full speed. The ball carrier's objective was to cross the "goal line." The tackler's goal was not to get flattened or yelled at by Messrs. Sanna and Zednik. I was having a tough day in the tackling pit and hearing about it plenty. Last attempt, I spring to my feet and turn around and there is Charlie coming at me. An instant before impact, he straightened himself up giving me room to sink my shoulder into his midsection. I knew instantly that he had done it on purpose. I got my leather-popping tackle and kudos from the coach. Charlie got knocked on his ass but we both knew what had just happened. This was Charles Feuer in a nutshell.
What I recall about Chuck Feuer is that he was a natural leader. Seems to me he was in the Choir with so many of us and was president of the student theatre organization. Can't recall any performances, but I'm certain he was a part of theatre life at SHHS.

Wow...what a moving and sporting tribute...so glad none of us girls had to prove ourselves on the football field!
These classmates no longer with us will be remembered as long as we draw breath.
Fondly,
