I was saddened to hear about Doug's passing.  The news prompted many memories of him.  My thoughts are with Nick and the rest of Doug's family.  It was especially nice that so many of you got to talk with him at the reunion.

Oh Doug........ we were just laughing and reminicing together at our class reunion. 50 years flew by so quickly and I'm so grateful to have laughed with you one more time! You truly are a wonderful and special friend and I will miss you.

Doug was a class act in every respect, one of the people you really looked forward to catching up with at the reunion - as many of us did. Lots of fond memories from HS and now more regrets that we didn't stay in better contact.  He will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Our best to Nick and to Doug's family. I only spent a brief moment with Doug at the Reunion and I'm so glad I did. I wish it had been longer. He was a kind, gentle soul and I am sure he dealt with his patients with that same kindness that he expressed to his friends. They were blessed to have him as a doctor just as we were to have him as a friend and classmate.

Years ago we bought a Kimble grand piano. Low and behold, inside was a gold identification plate that said..."Doug Zini". We saw that only after moving to California and the piano was being shipped. It is sad to hear of his passing but his piano is still part of the "Shaker" family.
