Johnny Robson was my second grade boyfriend in Miss Moses's classroom at Mercer School. I still have the coral necklace that he brought me from a trip to South Carolina. My condolences to his family.

John S. Robson, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, after 12 years with Alzheimer’s Disease. Beloved husband for 51 years of Marcia L. (nee Thornton); loving father ofJennifer L. Barr (Jeremie) and Brian S. Robson (Krystel); cherished grandfather of the late Matthew T. Barr; Darren and Avery Barr, and Madelyn and Violet Robson; dearest son of the late N. Stewart and Rachel Robson (nee Johnson); brother of Elizabeth Robson (late Robert Carr) and James Robson (Betsy); loving uncle and loyal friend to many. John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years, completing his service as Captain. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Management, was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and went on to earn his MBA at The University of Michigan. John began his career at The F.D. Johnson Company in 1977, eventually serving as owner/CEO and retired in 2012. John gave 100% to the three most important things in his life: family, golf and work. He loved being surrounded by family and was an excellent golfer. He loved being outside - camping, Keewaydin, snow skiing, and walking on the beach on Sanibel Island. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was a good listener and a true gentleman. So many things come to mind as we remember family memories at Canterbury Golf Club, fishing and dining at The Trout Club, “Robson Rules”, dinner at Panera with our Alzheimer’s friends, and ice cream at Mitchell’s (or anywhere...he really loved ice cream). We gratefully thank the staffs at Maplewood at Twinsburg and Maplewood at Cuyahoga Falls for their excellent and loving care the past four years. Family and friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD (ST RT 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR MEMORIAL VISITATION ON FRIDAY NOVEMBER 6 FROM 4-6 P.M. OUT OF RESPECT FOR ONE ANOTHER MASKS WILL BE WORN AND SOCIAL DISTANCING
OBSERVED. All are asked to gather at the Sunbury Memorial Park on West Cherry Street in Sunbury, Ohio on Saturday, November 7 at 2 p.m. where John’s graveside services and interment will be celebrated. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in John’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 23215 Commerce Park, Suite 300, Beachwood, Ohio 44122 or online at

I had the fun to coach John's son when he played ice hockey on the same team as my younger son also a Brian. Great time and it was good to reconnect with John. Really good man.
